On Saturday, September 11 Wright Construction Services will host its third annual 22 mile walk  funding organizations dedicated to eliminating veteran suicide. Wright will also be hosting a Virtual Walk that will run for 22 Days, starting August 21 through September 11.

Lee Burford, director of business development for Wright said that the “22” in the event’s name signifies the number of veterans who take their own lives every day.

“The challenge is simple – Walk 22 miles to raise awareness and funds for organizations that combat veteran suicide, ” Burford said. “The purpose of this challenge is to show our support and solidarity with the U.S. Service Members who have served, who currently serve, and for those who sacrificed everything in service to our country.”

The 2019 Inaugural Event raised $22,000 for Mission 22, Six String Heroes, and Focus Marines Foundation. Our 2020 Virtual 22 Strong Event raised $40,000 with proceeds presented to Focus Marines Foundation; Gateway Blue Star Mothers; Got Your Six Support Dogs; Joshua Chamberlain Society; Mission 22; Six String Heroes; and St. Charles County Veteran’s Museum.
