Wright Construction Services is aiming to raise $125,000 for veterans at its 8th Annual 22 Strong Walk on Saturday, Sept. 26, at Frankie Martin’s Garden in Cottleville.
The event, organized through Wright’s philanthropic initiative Building Change, raises awareness of veteran suicide and funds nonprofit organizations serving veterans. Organizers expect about 350 walkers this year.
The walk has grown considerably since its 2019 debut, when it raised $22,000. Last year’s record-setting event raised $107,000 with 338 walkers and 50 corporate sponsors. Over seven years, Building Change has distributed more than $500,000 to organizations serving veterans.
Participants can choose between a 22-mile walk and a 2.2-mile route. Check-in begins at 5:30 a.m. for the longer course and 11:30 a.m. for the 2.2-mile walk. Registration includes lunch and an event T-shirt.
“Supporting veterans has been an important part of Wright’s commitment to our community for years, and the 22 Strong Walk gives our team and partners a meaningful way to put that commitment into action,” said Thomas Wright, CEO of Wright Construction Services.
Proceeds from this year’s event will benefit FOCUS Marines Foundation, Got Your Six PTSD Support Dogs, Joshua Chamberlain Society, Re-Emerge, Dogs for Our Brave, Dogs on Duty and the Mid America Veterans Museum.
Wright Construction Services, which is celebrating its 20th anniversary in 2026, currently employs seven military veterans.
