T.J. Wies Adds Juan Carlos Butron to Help Grow Prefab Design Capabilities
T.J. Wies Contracting has added architect and prefabrication specialist Juan Carlos Butron to its Prefab Team as senior construction design specialist, bringing extensive experience in prefabricated wall systems, BIM coordination and building-envelope design to the St. Louis-based contractor.
Butron will help build and grow T.J. Wies’ Prefab Design Department, applying experience developed through construction, design and prefabrication work in Canada and internationally.
Originally from Bolivia and raised in Argentina, Butron earned his architecture degree from the University of Buenos Aires and later completed Ontario Building Code studies at Humber College in Canada. He is now a Canadian citizen.
His Canadian construction career has included positions in project management, building restoration, panel systems and prefabrication. Butron worked with Granolite Company Limited, Brook Restoration and Durabond Products before serving as an engineering manager with Jersey Panel Corporation.
Most recently, he was a senior designer with SkyRise Prefab Building Solutions in Ontario. His work there included prefabricated exterior wall systems, BIM coordination, façade design and digital fabrication. His experience includes residential, commercial, healthcare, hospitality and mixed-use projects in Canada, the United States and internationally.
Throughout his career, Butron has focused on developing prefabricated wall systems and finding more efficient approaches to design and construction. That experience aligns with his new role at T.J. Wies as the company continues developing its prefab design capabilities.
According to T.J. Wies, Butron was impressed by the company and its people during his first visit to St. Louis. He is looking forward to helping expand the Prefab Design Department, tackling new challenges and becoming part of the T.J. Wies team.
Outside of work, Butron is a soccer fan who enjoys playing the ukulele and paddle boarding. He and his wife have two grown daughters and recently adopted two kittens.
