From St. Louis Business Journal:  St. Louis added two platinum LEED-Certified buildings in the past year.

McDonnell Hall and Brauer Hall at Mary Institute and St. Louis Country Day School (MICDS) was certified in May 2015 and opened in the spring of 2014, according to MICDS. The nearly $40-million project is the region’s leading STEM teaching facility, according to the school, and includes gathering spaces and an 800-person auditorium on MICDS’ Upper School Campus.

This project ranked seventh on this year’s List of the Highest-Rated LEED-Certified Buildings, with 76.4 of the LEED standards met, according to the U.S. Green Building Council.

BSI Constructors Inc. was the contractor for the project and Centerbrook Architects and Planners was the architect.

Hillman Hall at Washington University’s Brown School was also new to the List this year, as it received platinum LEED certification Nov. 25, and met 75.5 percent of the LEED standards. Washington University is a leader of LEED certification, as it has three projects on this year’s List, and its LEED consultant, Vertegy LLC, worked on five of the 25 projects listed. Thomas Taylor, principal at Vertegy, said that 100 percent of the company’s work is LEED consulting.
