From REjournals:  St. Louis’ KAI has been honored with a pair of St. Louis Business Journal accolades: Best Places to Work and the Community Impact Award.

Nearly 200 nominations were submitted for the newspaper’s 2024 Best Places to Work Awards program. Participating companies and their employees completed surveys administered by a third-party surveyor, Quantum Workplace, which used its own algorithm to measure communication, management structure, benefits, teamwork and other factors at each local company. The companies were grouped by number of employees, then ranked by Quantum to determine St. Louis’ most employee-friendly workplaces.

During its inaugural participation, KAI was one of 83 companies selected as a Best Places to Work finalist and recognized during a luncheon held on May 16. KAI was also honored with a special Community Impact Award for demonstrating exceptional commitment to community service and philanthropy.

One of the region’s largest minority-owned businesses, KAI specializes in the design and construction of community-focused, transformative projects that improve the lives of the people who use them. With this objective in mind, KAI recently launched an internal initiative to transform 100 communities in 10 years. As one of the region’s largest corporate philanthropists, KAI reported cash and in-kind giving totaling $147,388 in 2023.

When it comes to its employees, KAI prioritizes diverse perspectives and actively invests in a work environment where its team of architects, engineers, interior designers, builders and support staff feel respected, included and appreciated.
