St. Louis-based HFW Cos. Adds Texas Surveying Firm

From St. Louis Business Journal: The HFW Cos., a St. Louis-based professional services firm targeting the architecture, engineering and construction (AEC) sector for investments, has added a Texas land surveying company to its growing portfolio.
HFW said this week that it has formed a “strategic growth partnership” with 4Ward Land Surveying, an Austin, Texas-based business that provides land surveying services for commercial, residential and public works projects throughout Texas.
Terms of the deal weren’t disclosed, but the partnership will allow 4Ward to speed up its growth plan and expand its geographic reach beyond Texas with added services as well as new locations and employees, according to 4Ward President Jason Ward.
Ward founded 4Ward in 2009 as a two-person surveying company, and it now employs 50 workers. Its project experience includes large commercial developments, mixed-use subdivisions, multifamily housing, retail centers, and institutional and public works projects, officials said.
“4Ward is experiencing incredible growth,” Ward said in a statement. “Our partnership with HFW gives us the boost we need to achieve our plan faster and with greater opportunity for our hard-working team. We are excited to join forces with HFW and its architecture and engineering brands network.”
