St. Charles County Partners with St. Peters for Road Development Project

From Mid Rivers Newsmagazine: St. Peters has been granted financial assistance from St. Charles County to support necessary road improvements for the Lakeside 370 Northpoint Development project.
At the Sept. 9 St. Charles County Council meeting, county officials approved an amended intergovernmental agreement to afford St. Peters the ability to utilize county transportation sales tax funding for the Spencer Road expansion project along its northwest reach. According to the ordinance, the county had authorized up to $3,334,400 for “construction of a new
three-lane concrete roadway with 12-foot lanes, including a continuous left turn lane, constructed along the south boundary of the development within existing right-of-way.”
St. Peters officials originally applied to receive 50% funding from the county. The estimated cost of the project was priced at $6.7 million but has been re-assessed at $4.5 million, thus reducing the county contribution to an amended $2.2 million.
