Meet Paul Mutuura
Determination has been at the heart of Paul Mutuura’s character since he arrived in St. Louis as a teenager from Kenya two decades ago.
He has shown goal-oriented focus, whether it’s in earning his undergraduate degree from UMSL, paring 80 pounds of weight off his now-lean frame, or starting a business.
When his position in construction business development evaporated last year, Mutuura took his skills and ventured out from one-off side-gig projects to developing complete marketing approaches for small firms.
Taking that risk has reaped success for Biasha Biz, the consulting firm he started a decade ago.
Biasha Biz exists to empower small-medium B2B businesses in industries like manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, and industrial sectors to unlock their full growth potential.
Many of these businesses face challenges such as the absence of marketing leadership, fragmented strategies, or overstretched teams, limiting their ability to scale and achieve their goals. Biasha Biz helps to bridge the gap between his clients’ firms current states and their aspirations.
Giving back through service is another big part of Mutuura’s personal makeup. He serves on the board of Microfinancing Partners in Africa. He helped that organization in the early stages of establishing a successful microfinance program in Mombasa, Kenya.
