Meet Kendall Davidson Sr.

At 52, Kendall Davidson, Sr., owner of Kendall’s Hauling, LLC, has eight years to go toward his goal of retiring to his family’s ancestral farm in Mississippi. But he is well on his way in establishing his dream of passing on generational wealth.

That was the legacy that was passed to him through two generations: first by his grandfather, who established a bus company in Mississippi, and later by his mother who came to St. Louis as an entrepreneur in her own right. His mother backed the startup of Kendall’s Hauling in 2005.

Davidson, who is the father of three, wants to pass that legacy on his children. To make that happen he has been driven throughout the company’s history. Years ago one of his daughters told him she only saw him go four places: to their home, to church, to work, and to the gym. He believes leading his team by example.

He notes the difficulties of M/WBE firms in securing operating capital. He found that a pivot to credit unions from major banks gave his company the leg up it needed.

The company has developed competencies in hauling, fuel delivery and excavation. Millstone Weber entrusted work on the relocation of I-70 at Lindbergh to the company, which was a major accomplishment. An opportunity to deliver fuel provided by SAK resulted in a nine-year relationship that endures to today.
