Meet Elle Meitl
You might say that Elle Meitl has asphalt running through her veins. She grew up around the asphalt and construction asphalt and construction firm that her father owned.
While in college at the University of Kansas, where she received her bachelors degree in civil engineering, she was an administrative assistant to the Association of Modified Asphalt Producers.
Meitl holds a credentialed Professional Engineer (PE). She’s also a licensed private aircraft pilot and is certified as an advanced open water diver.
Following graduation, she was a structural engineer for a steel fabricator. She then moved to a Columbia-IL based constructor of asphalt storage and liquid terminals where she was a structural detailing manager and then a project manager.
While in that role, she had a chance encounter in a restaurant with Lianne Reizer, who founded Petro Logistics, LLC in 2012. Meitl was fascinated by Reizer’s business model.
Petro Logistics sells and distributes liquid asphalt and petroleum products from companies such as Phillips 66 and Coastal Energy. Petro has a fleet of company owned, employee-operated trucks.
In 2021, Elle Meitl acquired Petro Logistics from Reizer. Lianne Reizer has remained in operations at Petro and Meitl is focused on growing Petro’s customer base to supply material to road contractors throughout Missouri, Kansas, and Arkansas.
“I value the small business mentality,” Meitl said. I value employees first, safety first. Customers a close second, but having that open door policy an open door policy, family oriented mentality within the company. It helps the drivers, it helps the customers, and it makes for a much more enjoyable workplace.”
