Meet Amy Hughes & Julia Heutel
H2 Lighting Design (H2Ltg) is a St. Louis-based Woman-Owned Business Enterprise co-led by Amy Hughes, CLD, Associate IALD, and Julia Heutel. Amy approaches each project with a dual lens — artistic ambition and engineered excellence — while Julia brings over a decade of experience in architectural and specialty lighting design, including aviation, healthcare, educational, government, and commercial work.
Together they build on these complementary strengths to deliver lighting design solutions that are both beautiful and highly functional. In this edition of Seven Questions, Hughes and Heutel share how they launched H2Ltg, the philosophy that guides their work, challenges overcome, and the projects of which they are most proud.
We are super passionate about what we do,” Heutel said.“It’s fun to get out there and touch as many different types of projects as possible.
“And it’s just cool to see the different directions that we’ve gotten to go just by working well with people.”
