From St. Louis Business Journal: A homebuilder is seeking approval for a 16-home subdivision in south St. Louis County with smaller lots that will give it a more attainable price point.

Homebuilder Flower & Fendler is seeking approval for the 16 detached single-family houses on a 4.3-acre site at 515 and 529 Forder Road in south St. Louis County. The development would be known as Estates at Forder Creek.

A key goal of the subdivision is to offer more attainable housing than larger-lot developments typically provide, Sean Flower, president of the homebuilding firm, said at an Aug. 3 public hearing before the St. Louis County Planning Commission.

The estimated sale price of the detached single-family houses would range from the mid-$400,000s to the low $500,000s, Flower said. Home styles would include ranch, 1.5 stories and two stories, he said. Once customizations are added, home prices could reach into the $700,000 range, plans show. The property, already zoned R-3 residential, is in the unincorporated Oakville area in the Mehlville School District.
