SLCCC Seeks Nominees for Best Practices, Inclusion Awards

The St. Louis Council of Construction Consumers is looking for a few good men, women, organizations and projects to honor at its annual awards gala on March 6 for best practices and diversity inclusion.
Best Practices Awards: The Best Practices Awards program provides unique awards which recognize achievement with implementation of construction industry Best Practices that have been validated by the Construction Industry Institute (CII) to provide improvements in cost and schedule. There are currently 17 Best Practices which have been validated. Click here for nomination form.
BJC’s Ramona Tumblin-Rucker won the Diversity Champion Award in 2016.
Diversity/Inclusion Awards: These awards recognize the advancement of diversity and inclusion in the design and construction industry. Awards are presented for:
- Inclusion Champion: a project manager, office staff, client, customer or other colleague who has made a significant contribution or effort to promote inclusion . . . perhaps a new idea, activity or program that promotes greater use of women or minorities on a project or enhances the use of women or minority owned firms. Minority / Woman / Disadvantaged Business Enterprise: Nominate a Minority, Woman or Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) firm or supplier for excellence based on their understanding and efforts to apply one of the construction industry best practices. Click for nomination form.
Organizational Excellence for Inclusion: How has the organization promoted inclusion? What programs has the organization supported and by what means (e.g. financially, mentoring, other resources …)? Explain other ways the firm encourages inclusive participation. Provide metrics. Click for nomination form.
Deadline for Diversity/Inclusion nominations is Friday, Jan. 20. Deadline for Best Practices nominations is Monday Jan. 30.
