SITE Improvement Association honored one of its long-time members, Charles “Charlie” Bollmeier, recently with the organization’s President’s Award. The award is the most prestigious honor given by SITE in recognition of a member’s outstanding guidance, foresight, time and leadership to the association and the community.
“Charlie is very deserving of this award for his leadership in forming and chairing our scholarship program,” said SITE President Jim Fitzgerald. “He (Charlie) convinced the Board of Directors to start the scholarship program more than 15 years ago. Since that time, SITE has awarded more than $215,000 in scholarships to 121 students to further their education.”
Bollmeier served on the SITE Board of Directors for 24 years. He recently retired from the company he founded, C.E. Bollmeier Company, Inc., a utility contractor located in Bridgeton. His sons Bill and Art now run the company.
SITE has bestowed the “President Award” to only nine members in its nearly 50 year history.
SITE Improvement Association is a construction organization composed of prime contractors, subcontractors and businesses with ties to the construction industry. Most of SITE’s members work in eastern Missouri in the construction areas of concrete, asphalt paving, utility installation, excavating, highway building, landscaping and specialty construction.
