Data centers are becoming a huge development opportunity with the rise of AI, e-commerce, and quantum computing. From conversion of existing office spaces, to sprawling exurban facilities, data centers – their design, construction, outfitting, and powering – offer both opportunities and challenges.
The Forum has assembled a panel of experts with diverse perspectives on the data center boom that is already with us. They will assess the state of data center design and construction, from both global and local viewpoints.

Anu Russell Tharanath, vice president-mission critical market leader at Clayco – Design & Engineering. Clayco has mission critical facilities with the formation of its Clayco Compute unit. Clayco Compute had $3.6B of data mission revenue in 2024 and is currently involved in the construction of 57 active data centers.
Peter Choi, AIA, principal-design of HOK’s San Francisco Studio. Choi recently led a team of HOK designers and engineers recently explored in a hypothetical study that imagined transforming office towers into next-generation innovation hubs—ones that could advance AI computing, reuse energy for urban agriculture and add new vibrancy to downtown office districts.
Luke Schuette, founder and CEO of ReNüTeq, a St. Louis-based designer and manufacturer of structural bamboo components. ReNüTeq has launched a line of structural bamboo data racking solutions.
