From West Newsmagazine: Another phase of the Villages at Brightleaf in Wildwood was approved at the City Council meeting July 15.
Developer Fischer & Frichtel Custom Homes had proposed up to 34, single-family detached dwellings on an 8.3-acre tract located on the west side of Taylor Road extension, north of Hwy. 100, and east of Hwy. 109.
In 2018, the council approved a major Town Center residential development called The Villages at Brightleaf. It included over 190 homesites divided into five distinct villages.
One of those villages (Village E) was a maintenance-free style of residence for a certain type of buyer. The developer would like to replicate that success on the adjacent parcel of ground across the Taylor Road extension, called The Pointe at Brightleaf.
Amenities proposed include a small lake with a fountain, trails and green spaces, all highlighted by new landscaping and plantings.
At the July 15 meeting, Chris DeGuentz, vice president of development and construction with Fischer & Frichtel, noted the company received positive input to proceed from city leaders to redevelop the commercially-zoned property with single-family homes at the Planning and Zoning Commission meeting last July.
