From West Newsmagazine: Residents are going to see some road improvements in Wildwood.
Ryan Pearcy, area engineer with the Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT), attended a Wildwood work session on May 13 to discuss plans for upcoming projects.
One of these is the resurfacing of Hwy. 100, from Route OO to 0.8 miles east of Hwy. 109, which includes shoulder reconstruction.
Reconstruction of the shoulders is the biggest chunk of the project, expected to cost $12 to $13 million, Pearcy said.
MoDOT expects to bid the project sometime during the winter and start construction next year.
The plan is for MoDOT to combine Wildwood’s J-turn and left-turn lane projects with its resurfacing project.
J-turns will be added at Route T and Pond Road and left-turn lanes will be constructed at Booness Lane, Woodland Meadows Drive, Hencken Road and Windy Hollow Lane.
Basically, every state route around Wildwood is funded to be resurfaced starting next year, said Rick Brown, director of Public Works.
Improvements will also be made on Old State Road. There is a stretch of Old State that is particularly dangerous and has seen numerous accidents over the years.
