From St. Louis Post-Dispatch: A national food distribution company has started construction on a new facility in North St. Louis County, and will move from its home in St. Louis.
Virginia-based Performance Food Group will be relocating operations and more than 300 jobs 9 miles northwest of its current warehouse on North Broadway in St. Louis to a nearly 350,000-square-foot facility in Ferguson.
Operations are scheduled to begin in spring 2025.
The facility will bring nearly $120 million in new investment and close to 100 new jobs to the area, according to company.
“We look forward to moving to our new facility, which will allow us to add to our associate base and enable us to better serve our growing customer base,” Greg Gruber, president of Performance Food Service Middendorf, said in a statement.
County councilmember Rita Heard Days welcomed Performance Food Group to the neighborhood at the Wednesday afternoon groundbreaking.
“We have the whole package here in north St. Louis County,” she told attendees. “North County is in the business of attracting business and people to come here. We love to have folks like Performance Foods and all the other tenants that are represented here in the NorthPark area to come here and understand what we see and what we like.”
