From St. Louis Business Journal:  The Lindbergh School District has paid $2.7 million to acquire a property located at 9400 Watson Road, across from the former Crestwood Mall site. The purchase was made using Prop R funds, a $105 million no-tax-rate-increase bond issue that voters in the Lindbergh community approved this spring.

Cady Properties owned the building since 1984, which was occupied by a mix of manufacturing businesses in recent years, but was about 90% vacant at closing, officials with the school district said.

“We are fortunate to have found this property where we can relocate our district shops, and we are grateful for all of the community members who are supporting safer schools for our Lindbergh students,” Tony Lake, superintendent of the district, said.

By purchasing the property, Lindbergh will be able to relocate the district’s three maintenance and landscape shops from the Lindbergh High School campus. This is a key first step in creating a safer high school campus, officials said. One of the main reasons the district pursued Prop R earlier this year was to improve safety and security for the district’s roughly 7,000 students.
