From St. Louis Business Journal:The residential portion of Fred Kummer‘s $170 million redevelopment in Clayton will feature a 21-story tower and 250-spot parking garage, according to plans filed with the city of Clayton.

Kummer’s project includes 110 luxury condominiums and a 10,000-square-foot fitness center at the tower called Nine N. Bemiston, which will face Bemiston Avenue.

The footprint of the units will range from 2,000 square feet to 5,000 square feet with a variety of layouts and covered balconies, high ceilings and high-end finishes. Amenities include concierge, valet and underground parking, green space with a pool, and a catering kitchen, said Stafford Manion, president of Gladys Manion Inc., which is handling the sales and marketing of Nine N. Bemiston.

The founder and CEO of HBE Corp., which provides design and construction services for health care facilities, in February acquired a half-acre site in downtown Clayton from the Gershman family and affiliated entities. In addition to the luxury condos, Kummer also is planning to build a retail, restaurant and/or entertainment portion in a later phase after he nixed plans for a hotel.
