From West Newsmagazine: The Ellisville City Council held its first meeting at the new city hall and government center on Jan. 15.
“It was a breath of fresh air,” said Ellisville Mayor Mike Roemerman about the new council chambers. “The open space, the brightness of it; everything is fresh and new.”
Roemerman said it was a full house at the first meeting of the year. In fact, he said that had they been in the old city hall it would have been standing room only, with residents filling the old hallway as well.
The new building is located on the same property as the old city hall, 1 Weis Avenue at the intersection of Manchester Road. Construction began in July of 2023.
The new building has a grand foyer and secured doorways leading to all areas except the council chambers. While the technology in the new building was also a highlight, Roemerman said officials are still working out some minor kinks.
