From Mid Rivers Newsmagazine: The David Hoekel Road project received approval to get funding from St. Charles County at the Wentzville Board of Aldermen’s Jan. 8 meeting.
This project was designed to offer residents of western Wentzville and St. Charles County a new route connecting Interstate 70 and US 61.
Phase 2D of the project was completed in November, offering an alternative route to alleviate traffic going to and from I-70 to West Meyer Road. Project plans reported that this phase was designed to improve the David Hoekel Parkway stretch between Goodfellow Road and West Meyer Road, connect West Meyer Road to the I-70 interchange, and construct two lanes of David Hoekel Parkway on the eastern side of the corridor, one northbound lane and one southbound lane.
Although the city is still working to complete the final items, traffic for this phase is now open, and the city has approved the intergovernmental agreement to receive county funding for phase 3.
