Yesterday (Sept. 26), the future of the construction industry visited the St. Louis riverfront. Over 300 persons gathered in a large tent at the Gateway South Advanced Building Collaboration District, located South of the Gateway Arch, to listen to a panel of experts on the intersection of construction thought and technology.
Afterwards, they viewed exhibits by local companies exhibiting industrialized and modularized construction and technology education and support. Tours of Gateway South’s Crunden Martin project were also offered.
Panelists included Dafna Kaplan, CEO of Cassette (LA based modular construction manufacturer); Dan Wies, owner of Wies Offsite; Matt Breidenthal, HOK’s engineering practice leader; Bobby Vance, industrialized construction expert/competition manager of Gateway Decathlon; and Luke Schuette, founder, and CEO, ReNüTeq.
Thanks to the Forum team members, volunteers and exhibitors who made the program possible! Special program sponsors were Ameren Illinois | Energy Efficiency Program, ASP Enterprises, HOK, Integrate Construction Partners, Millstone Weber, Midwest BankCentre and Washington University.
A video on the past and future role of St. Louis’ construction industry in the area of built environment technology was presented.
