From St. Louis Business Journal:  The city of Clayton’s Planning Commission and Architectural Review Board on Monday approved alterations made by Clayco for Centene’s planned $770 million campus expansion in Clayton.

All the site plans, plats and architecture were approved. Clayton’s Board of Aldermen is expected to ratify the plans Jan. 10.

Bob Clark, CEO of Clayco, said crews are already underway with utilities.

“We will start excavation and shoring on Feb. 1 and foundations in April,” he said.

Clayco altered some of its project plans in November. Most notably, the corporate and civic auditorium has more than doubled in size and is now located on the southwest corner of Forsyth Boulevard and Carondelet Plaza.

Centene Corp. (NYSE: CNC) has been offered $6.6 million through the Missouri Works program and $75.6 million in tax abatements over 20 years to help pay for the first two phases of the planned Clayton campus expansion.

For years, Centene has grown its real estate footprint across the region, from roughly 20,000 square feet of office space in The Sevens Building in Clayton in 2008 to more than a million square feet of space spread over about a dozen facilities in the St. Louis area today.
